I haven't really had any "Eureka" moments. My research tends to follow this pattern:
I do something weird. Twitch or talk, or have a tantrum, or stop moving altogether. Whatever.
This is invariably followed by me screaming "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?????"
The answers have usually been followed by me cringing and curling up and crying "You have fucking got to be kidding me...."
