No Mercy

Previously on "2020":

The New York Times reported that Trump’s financial documents reveal the president’s three family trusts held investments in Regeneron as well as pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, which itself is a major shareholder in Regeneron.

New from the Writers:

Trump administration officials passed when Pfizer offered in late summer to sell the U.S. government additional doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, according to people familiar with the matter. Now Pfizer may not be able to provide more of its vaccine to the United States until next June because of its commitments to other countries, they said.

I spent every day holding on to my biology facts.  Surfing pubmed.  So I could figure it out before I forgot everything.  Jettisoned everything else.  People, places, music, recipes, html, computer programs- all gone.  I'm a cataloging librarian who forgot how to classify.  Still don't remember the dates of my own life events.

Now back to our previously scheduled hijacking.

The pandemic is worse than ever. The worst in the universe.   Morgue trailers are happening again.

It's cold outside. People's noses are dried out and swollen. They are hanging out indoors eating carbs.
You know, all the things on my "respiratory infection predictable habits" list...

And next week sometime the Supreme Court will decide to crush the ACA.  Leaving millions without health care options.

And while the Great and Glorious OZ is screeching about voter fraud to distract you-
He seems to be ready to hand off large parts of America's strategic resources to his partners in crime...
The White House is urging the Pentagon to fast track “what would essentially be a no-bid contract to lease the Department of Defense's mid-band spectrum—premium real estate for the booming and lucrative 5G market—to Rivada Networks, a company in which prominent Republicans and supporters of President Donald Trump have investments.”
Trump to strip protections from Tongass National Forest, one of the biggest intact temperate rainforests

Guessing this has something to do with no-bid contracts too-
The administration fired Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Bonnie Glick, deputy administrator of the US Agency for International Development, and Neil Chatterjee, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
He's surely criming right now.   I am assuming he is currently "making a deal" for the mining rights to the Grand Canyon.
Because Arizona.

As I was saying

NPR:

Mark Meadows, the chief of staff to President Trump, has tested positive for the coronavirus, multiple news organizations reported late Friday night. He is the latest person in the president's inner circle to catch the virus, which is surging across the country.

Meadows was last seen by reporters on election night, when Trump gave a defiant speech to supporters packed into the East Room of the White House. Meadows walked into the room ahead of Trump's adult children just ahead of his remarks.

The Last Gasp of the Red Death

The White House on lockdown: A federal law enforcement source tells NBC that beginning tomorrow, crews will build a “non-scalable” fence to secure the WH complex, Ellipse and Lafayette Square.

Trump is planning to hold his election night party in the East Room of the White House. They’re discussing inviting roughly 400 people, a huge amount for an indoors event during the pandemic.

Regeneron board member and executive sell $1 million in stock after Trump touts treatment
On Monday, when markets opened, Regeneron stock prices surged from $564 to over $600 a share. That day, Joseph Goldstein, who sits on the company’s board of directors, and SVP and Head of Commercial Marion McCourt exercised stock options that let them sell a total of 10,200 shares for a net profit of over $1 million. According to filings, that netted about $740,000 for Goldstein and $260,000 for McCourt.

Seems Relevant Somehow

I have linked to this article before.  Took forever to find it again.  Ha.

Parasites Can Mind-Control Animals Without Infecting Them
The tapeworm doesn’t passively go along for this convoluted ride. When it enters sticklebacks, it somehow changes their behavior so they swim toward warmer water...
(After simulated attacks) groups of uninfected fish would flee to the bottom of the tank, to hide among the plants there. By contrast, infected sticklebacks stuck to the danger zone. “These guys, they don’t care,” says Scharsack. “If you try to scare them they hardly respond.”

Their bold behavior could also influence their peers. Like many animals that live in shoals and flocks, sticklebacks are incredibly sensitive to the actions of their neighbors. Small decisions made by individuals can translate into large collective movements by the group. And if certain individuals are infected by a mind-controlling parasite, to an extent, the group is too.

Demandt and Saus demonstrated this by repeating their experiment with mixed groups of infected and uninfected individuals. They showed that if the infected were in the majority, the uninfected ones followed them, staying in the danger zone instead of fleeing. Such indirect control has never been documented before, and might benefit the parasite. If a larger shoal of devil-may-care fish stays at the water’s surface, predators might be more likely to find and attack them, again increasing the chances that they’ll swallow an infected individual.

And what of the sticklebacks? Sticking with the group isn’t necessarily the wrong decision, given that it provides safety in numbers. But in this case, the tapeworm might be converting safety in numbers into danger for all.

...There are lessons here for humans, too. In classic experiments from the 1950s, Solomon Asch showed that volunteers could often be persuaded to give what were clearly wrong answers to simple questions if others around them—actually paid actors—answered wrongly too. In many cases, the volunteers were certain that the actors were wrong, but went along with their decisions nonetheless. A bad idea, just like a parasitic tapeworm, can also influence the minds of those who aren’t directly touched by it.

Priorities

This is what I know about women who voted for Trump:

Very many of them will gladly accept an Anti-abortion SC justice- even if she will destroy their own diabetic children's ability to afford insulin.

20 million Americans will lose their health insurance in the middle of November if Trump's nominee is confirmed.  During a pandemic of an infection with chronic long term effects.

It's mind boggling.

Self Defense

Here's what to do if someone coughs or sneezes near you

Sherman said that if you find yourself in a high-risk scenario in which a someone sneezes or coughs near you, “Immediately exhale to avoid inhaling droplets or aerosols. Purse your lips to make the exhaling last longer. Turn your head fully away from the person and begin walking.”
This method won’t definitively protect you from COVID-19, but it could reduce how much of the virus you’re exposed to if the person who coughs or sneezes happens to be contagious.

New Research Results

I have been thinking about/researching nasal administration of vitamin D.
I don't know why I haven't thought of it before. It seems like I should have...
Other people have thought of it before, though. There are some studies.

Oral vitamin D supplementation reduces chronic rhinitis, irritation in the nose. I have been telling y'all that for years.
And low vitamin D is associated with COVID, which enters and attaches through the nose.
Makes sense. So, finally my brain put them together...

A few experiments have been done with inhalable vitamin D spray, and it does pass through the membranes of the nose and lungs, raising serum levels. Most of the spray on the market is for the mouth though, and has sweeteners and other stuff in the mix.
I didn't see any articles just wiping VitD oil up the nostrils with a swab. Topical VitD has been tested on nasal cell cultures though, and there was no toxicity.
So I tried that. And it's lovely. I like it a lot.
I've been wiping olive oil up my nostrils for years. It has helped my breathing so much.
This week I put olive oil up the left nostril and VitD oil up the right.
Right side definitely wins. Way less inflammation and cracking and dripping.
(3 drops on a swab tip, stick it up there, wipe it around. Use separate swab for other nostril.)

I'm not inhaling the oil into the sinuses, it's probably not great for that, but I will try to figure out a snortable water soluble mist next.

Intranasal vitamin A is beneficial in post-infectious olfactory loss

My two cents

Pam Bondi calls Kyle Rittenhouse "a little boy out there trying to protect his community."

No.   He once was a little boy with apnea and insulin resistance caused by crowded teeth.  Who was given guns to play with.
Now he is a gun-obsessed young man with trigeminal nerve inflammation and sleep deprivation (and likely rotten molars)- and the resulting frontal lobe suppression which causes impulse control problems.
Who committed premeditated murder.

Passive Aggressive Public Service Announcement

I am printing out copies of this to leave in maskless men's shopping carts at Home Depot-

The Covid-19  virus attaches to ACE2 receptors, starting in your nose.   It then multiplies and drips down into your lungs, which then deteriorate and allow it into your bloodstream.   It then preferentially binds to places with high ACE2 receptor density.   Like your testicles.  Seriously, testes are very susceptible, and the virus has been found in sperm.

It goes in your nose, and then collects in your balls.

Lets talk about zombie cicadas.   They are all the rage right now.

Male cicadas infected with a particular parasitic fungus lose their minds and go on a mating frenzy — even as the fungus causes their genitals to rot.  Wicked, huh?

Now lets talk about Covid-19.

High ACE2 expression in testes suggests the possible existence of gender-specific viral reservoirs.

Another study found that SARS-CoV-2 can be present in the semen of patients with COVID-19, and SARS-CoV-2 may still be detected in the semen of recovering patients.

The virus attaches to ACE2 receptors, starting in your nose.   It then multiplies and drips down into your lungs, which then deteriorate and allow it into your bloodstream.   It then ends up in places with high ACE2 receptor density.   Like your testicles.
